CLAY SCULPTING:

Explore the world of clay sculpting at Katie’s Clay Studio, an engaging experience for ages 9 and older with appointments available—just give us a call at 724-502-4700 to schedule.

• Create your unique clay masterpiece with our “On Your Own” option, priced at $49.00 + tax, which includes one pound of clay. Additional clay is available for purchase (per pound), and a small firing fee per item may apply for multiple clay creations, starting at $10+tax each.
• Private instructional sessions are also offered for an additional fee of $15+tax per 30 minutes.

Please make a reservation, as we do not accept walk-ins for clay sessions. The fee includes a return visit for glazing, and our staff is available for assistance.

Before diving into your project, be aware of our firing specifications: nothing thicker than half an inch, nothing thinner than a quarter inch, and nothing smaller than two inches. No beads are permitted. While there’s no guarantee of a project making it through the firing process, we strive for the best outcomes. Unfortunately, no refunds or credit are given for exploded or cracked projects. Ensure you return within 30 days from the firing to finish the glazing part of the project, as we don’t keep unfinished pottery beyond this period.

Capture precious moments with clay handprints for ages 3 months to 4 years, starting at just $35+tax. Explore clay ornament imprints, beginning at $32+tax for up to a 6-inch hand or foot imprint.

Please note that clay projects may take 2-3 weeks to return, influenced by drying time, thickness, and weather conditions. Check out monthly events for clay workshops, and be sure to call and sign up for your clay project class—they fill up quickly!

For those under the age of 8, participation in clay activities is limited to staff-led classes. Please refer to monthly events page  for more information.

We do not lease kiln space, and we do not fire outside clay or ceramics. Our studio does not offer gift cards specifically for clay activities. Feel free to stop by and explore our gift and art supplies—air dough clay kits are available for home projects. Remember, no food or drinks are permitted in the studio when doing clay. Payment in full is due on the day of creation, and patrons are responsible for PA Sales tax.
