NOTICE: WE DO NOT OFFER GIFT CARDS FOR THE WHEEL LESSONS. EMAIL STUDIO FOR A FLYER IF INTERESTED.

Pottery Wheel Throwing:

Private sessions are based on studio availability. Reservations are required for sessions, and we typically book 2-8 weeks in advance. To schedule your session, call 724-502-4700. Lessons must be booked via phone due to location constraints during birthdays in the same space. Thanks for your understanding.

All lesson bookings require a nonrefundable $10 booking retainer charge PER PERSON. This charge is deducted from your lesson cost on the day of the lesson. Canceled or no-show lessons result in the loss of the retainer, with no credit given. Rescheduling within 1 week is allowed to retain the retainer. If canceled after the 1-week mark, the retainer will be lost. Saturday spots fill quickly, especially for adult lessons, so consider this when booking.

Gratuity (18%) is added to groups of 4 or more; see below for details.

Wheel throwing times are as follows:

  • Wednesday: 12 pm to 2 pm
  • Thursday and Friday: 11 am to 6 pm
  • Saturday: 12 pm to 5 pm

PRIVATE/Small Group Wheel Throwing ONE-TIME Special: $79.00 +plus tax per person.

Includes:

  • Instruction for up to one hour.
  • Making ONE project on the wheel.
  • Firings for that project.
  • Clay is dishwasher, oven, and microwave safe.
  • Project ready in 2/4 weeks for return to paint at no additional cost.
  • Additional clay and glazes available for purchase.
  • Includes 2 glazes at the return visit per item.
  • Must return within 30 days to complete the project.

Reservation only. Age 10 and older. Up to 6 people, taking turns 2 at a time.

PRIVATE Wheel Throwing ONE-TIME Wheel Special for Couples “Date Night Special”: $245+tax for the couple.

Includes:

  • Instruction for up to two hour.
  • Making TWO projects each on the wheel.
  • Firings for those projects.
  • Clay is dishwasher, oven, and microwave safe.
  • Total of 4 pots made for the lesson.
  • Project ready in 2/4 weeks for return to paint at no additional cost.
  • Includes 2 glazes at the return visit per item.
  • Must return within 30 days to complete the project.

Reservation only. Up to 3 couples, taking turns 2 at a time. Gratuity added to groups of 4 or more (18%).

PRIVATE: COUPLES Deluxe Package: $299+tax.

Includes:

  • Adult only instruction led for up to two hours.
  • Making THREE projects each on the wheel with premium stoneware clay.
  • Firings for those projects.
  • Total of 6 pots made for the lesson.
  • Project ready in 2 – 4 weeks for return to paint at no additional cost.
  • Additional glazes available for purchase at the return visit.
  • Must return within 30 days to complete the project.

Whether you’re seeking assistance with troubleshooting a technique or delving into a specialized class, the experience awaits you. Prices start at $85+tax and may vary based on the chosen design Call to schedule.

Gratuity: Groups of 4 or more automatically have an 18% gratuity added to the bill at check-out, based on the total cost with the deposit paid in advance.

Our clay: We use stoneware clay. What is stoneware clay? Stoneware clay is a food-safe, microwaveable, oven and dishwasher-safe clay product. Perfect for everyday wear. Amazing glaze options with stunning effects! Stoneware premade items are always available in the paint your own pottery section of the studio for glazing at any time. Your project will come with two amazing glaze colors. Over 200 colors to choose from.

Disclaimer: In the event of a crack in the bottom of your piece, we can offer a 30% off lesson fee and material to replace it, or throw a matching one for you for the cost of the material. Cracks can be caused by not compressing the bottom well enough during the lesson. We suggest using the project as a planter, but do offer remakes if you wish to. Cracks cannot be fixed and must be remade.

BOOKING Retainer: All lesson bookings require a non-refundable or transferable $10 booking retainer charge PER PERSON participating in the class. It goes toward your lesson cost on the day of the lesson. Canceled lessons with less than 1 week notice, or no-show lessons will lose the retainer with no credit given. You can reschedule within 1 week to not lose the retainer. If canceled past the 1-week mark, a retainer will be lost.

Health and Safety: We are unable to social distance during wheel throwing. MASKS will be suggested if you feel uncomfortable or under the weather. Our staff is fully vaccinated. NO FOOD OR DRINKS are permitted in the clay area. If you are feeling unwell in any way, please call us to reschedule if our schedule allows.

POTTERY WHEEL THROWING CLASSES 6 WEEKS:

Private Wheel Throwing lessons and small group classes (up to 6 people) are available by appointment only. Participants must be ages 16 and older for pottery wheel throwing courses.

PRIVATE/ Small Group Adult: Beginner Wheel Throwing Class (6 weeks) – Age 16+

  • Cost: $389 + tax
  • Duration: Two hours per class, spanning six weeks
  • Includes one block of stoneware clay and firing for the items made in class
  • 5 weeks of throwing and the last class in week 6 will focus on glazing
  • Additional benefit: OPEN studio time, up to 2 hours extra per week
  • Great for practicing! This open studio time is solo, not with an instructor
  • All skill levels are welcomed
  • Available time slots: Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 12:30 – 2:30 pm, Thursdays and Fridays during the day
  • Missed classes must be made up with in 30 days of the missed class. If they are over the 30 day grace period, the class is forfeited.

PRIVATE/ Small Group Adult: Intermediate and Advance Wheel Throwing Class (6 weeks) – Age 16+

  • Cost: $415 + tax
  • Duration: Two hours per class, spanning six weeks
  • Includes one block of stoneware clay and firing for the items made in class
  • 5 weeks of throwing and the last class in week 6 will focus on glazing
  • Additional benefit: OPEN studio time, up to 2 hours extra per week
  • Great for practicing! This open studio time is solo, not with an instructor
  • Must have completed our 6 week beginner course.
  • This course will go into more detail form and trouble shoot any throwing speed bumps you may have.
  • Available time slots: Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 12:30 – 2:30 pm, Thursdays and Fridays during the day only.
  • Missed classes must be made up with in 30 days of the missed class. If they are over the 30 day grace period, the class is forfeited.

Private/ Small Group Adult: Wheel Throwing Vacation Crunch!

  • Cost: $399 + tax
  • Similar to the 6-week class structure but offers flexibility during your vacation.
  • Expedited firing
  • Ability to come every day during your vacation to complete the course or over a 2-week span
  • Lessons can be 3 hours long, and a class may be eliminated to streamline the schedule
  • Ideal for busy working adults with limited consecutive days available
  • Missed classes must be made up with in 30 days of the missed class. If they are over the 30 day grace period, the class is forfeited.

Private/Small Group Clay Class for Kids (with appointment)

  • Classes available on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for kids
  • Cost: $235 + tax for 3 classes covering wheel throwing or hand-building projects (depending on ages)
  • Duration: One hour per class
  • Pottery wheel projects on the first and second class, creating 2 projects each session
  • Alternatively, hand-sculpted projects may be chosen based on age and studio preference
  • The third class focuses on glazing
  • Recommended for ages 10 and older; under 10 not permitted
  • Classes run year-round with appointments available
  • Stoneware clay available for an additional fee; included clay is earthenware, not dishwasher or microwave safe
  • Missed classes must be made up with in 30 days of the missed class. If they are over the 30 day grace period, the class is forfeited.

Gift cards are currently unavailable for clay classes.

Disclaimer:

  • Cracks may occur due to insufficient compression at the bottom during the lesson
  • Cracked projects cannot be fixed and must be remade
  • No credit is given for cracked projects
  • Classes are non-refundable or transferable

  • Items must be glazed and pick up with in 30 days of  your last class or they will be discarded.

This lesson is tailored for individuals seeking more guidance than our introductory sessions offer or those with schedules not conducive to longer six-week courses. Sign up today and give it a spin!

  • Cost: $40.00 + tax per person, per hour. for instruction.
  • Clay: Additional $65.00 + tax for a 25-pound block of stoneware clay. Includes bisque firing (first firing) in the cost.
  • Glazing Fee: Starting at $12 + tax per item (price based on size of item) on the day of lesson, including 2 glaze options. Additional colors can be chosen.
  • Trimming Service: Available for an additional cost or return for a second lesson at the instruction rate.
  • Best Suited For: Individuals seeking repeated sessions and to grow skills.
  • Reservation: Only. Retainer required to book. Recommended 1-4 weeks in advance.
  • Note: Gift cards are not available for these sessions.

OPEN STUDIO AND MEMBERSHIPS

Open Studio for Adults (Advanced Experience) – 18 and Over: Two hours Option:

  • Cost: $39 + tax for 2 hours of time.
  • Clay: Must purchase (priced per pound, block, or box).
  • Additional Fees: Trimming fee if needed and a firing fee, and firing fee per project created.
  • Qualification: Call the studio to schedule an easy evaluation of your skills to qualify for the class. You can also explore our Open Studio Memberships after completing a 6-week clay course with instructor approval.
  • Tools: Available for purchase or rental.
  • Appointment: Required.

Wheel Throwing VIP Member:

  • Cost: $375 + tax per month (4 weeks consecutively).
  • Access: Wheel room access during all studio hours open 6 days a week. (Closed Mondays)
  • Inclusions: One 25lb block of stoneware or porcelain clay, use of all studio tools, trimming and handle service, studio work shelf, wet box, firing, and over 150 different stoneware glazes.
  • Extras: One free hour session per month, holiday show participation, and a 10% discount on the paint-your-own-pottery line.
  • Qualification: Call the studio to schedule an easy evaluation of your skills to qualify for the class. You can also explore our Open Studio Memberships after completing a 6-week clay course with instructor approval.
  • Note: Gift cards are not available for these sessions.

Standard Open Clay Studio Membership 25 hours:

  • Cost: $325+ tax per month (4 weeks consecutively).
  • Access: Wheel room access during all studio hours 6 days a week. (Closed Mondays, up to 25 hours a week).
  • Inclusions: One 25lb block of stoneware clay, use of all studio tools, full studio work shelf, firing, and over 150 different stoneware glazes.
  • Extras: Trimming and handle service available for an additional cost.
  • Qualification: Call the studio to schedule an easy evaluation of your skills to qualify for the class. You can also explore our Open Studio Memberships after completing a 6-week clay course with instructor approval.

Basic Clay Studio Member ship: Sculpting or Wheel Throwing 15 Hours

  • Cost: $275 + tax per month (4 weeks consecutively).
  • Access: Wheel room access during all studio hours 6 days a week. (Closed Mondays, up to 15 hours a week).
  • Inclusions: One 25lb block of stoneware clay, use of all studio tools, half of a studio work shelf, firing, and over 150 different stoneware glazes.
  • Extras: Trimming and handle service available for an additional cost.
  • Qualification: Call the studio to schedule an easy evaluation of your skills to qualify for the class. You can also explore our Open Studio Memberships after completing a 6-week clay course with instructor approval.
  • Note: Gift cards are not available for these sessions.

Membership Terms:

  • All memberships are for 4 weeks consecutively and will auto-renew unless instructed otherwise.
  • All clay membership programs are non-refundable or transferable.

General Note:

  • Ensure pottery dimensions meet firing requirements. No guarantees for exploded or cracked projects.
  • Items thicker than half an inch or thinner than a quarter inch won’t undergo firing. The minimum size for firing is 2 inches. There’s no assurance that your piece will survive the firing process, and no refunds or credit will be provided for projects that crack or explode. Please consider this when creating your pottery.
  • Completing Items after Open Studio Membership or 6-week Class: If you have unfinished items at the end of your Open Studio membership or 6-week course, you have the option to enroll in a 2-hour Open Studio session to complete your projects.

Bring a Friend Policy:

  • NO member of the studio is allowed to conduct teaching sessions in our location or bring a friend to assist in creating projects.

Student Kiln Rental (Must be enrolled in our membership program):

  • Rental details available upon inquiry. Starting at $25 per shelf, minimum of 4 shelves).

Clay for Sale:

  • Available for sale (105NTG, 240, 240G). OUTSIDE Clay will not be fired in the studio.

NOTES:

  1. The pottery wheel lessons are suitable for ages 10 and older. Children under 10 will not be accepted due to the activity’s patience, focus, determination, calmness, and strength requirements. If a child struggles with focus, listening, or is smaller for their age, it is advisable to wait until they are older. Group accommodations for up to 4 people are possible if staffing permits. Additional time may be needed; please call to schedule.
  2. Missed classes must be made up with in 30 days of the missed class. If they are over the 30 day grace period, the class is forfeited.
  3. Participants must return to glaze within 30 days from the lesson, or their pottery will be discarded.
  4. Gratuity is included at 18% for groups of 4 or more.
  5. No gift cards are sold for pottery wheel lessons.
  6. We do not fire outside paint-your-own-pottery bisque. We apologize for any inconvenience.
  7. Reservation is required for all clay activities; we do not accept walk-ins for clay.
